Angela H. Santamaria



Angela H. Santamaria has been practicing law for nearly 8 years, and has been a Deputy Public Defender with the County of Riverside for nearly as long.

Angela is a San Diego South Bay native, having been born in Chula Vista and raised in National City. Angela received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ethnic Studies and Political Science from Brown University in 2007, and her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law in 2011.

Since becoming an attorney, Angela has tried to maintain active within her communities. She was a member of Lawyers Club of San Diego and volunteered with Project L.E.A.D. Angela also has held mentor roles via Cal Western’s A.I.M. Program and the Law Raza Law Student Association. For five years, she coached mock trial at Chaparral High School in Temecula. Currently, Angela serves on the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Scholarship Fund Board as their Secretary, a position she has held for the past 7 years. She also maintains memberships with the San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, California Pubic Defenders Association, and California Association for Criminal Justice. Angela has enthusiastically joined the PLS Board, whole-heartedly supporting its mission.
