As a student at the University of California, Berkeley, she studied Psychology and Sociology which fostered in her a spirit to travel to different countries and seek out different cultures and world views.
As a student at California Western School of Law, she volunteered her time at local non-profits such as the Employee Rights Center and Casa Cornelia Law Center assisting in the representation of indigent asylum seekers.
As an attorney, Yunuen has worked at the American Bar Association Immigration Justice Project representing indigent clients suffering from mental illness in removal proceedings. She has remained involved in our community through “Immigration: Know Your Rights” presentations and working closely with the San Diego Mexican Consulate. She continues her passionate work representing immigrant communities as an attorney of the Law Office of Lilia S. Velasquez, who has herself, worked tirelessly for decades representing clients in all types of immigration cases.
Most importantly, Yunuen is mother to a beautiful daughter, Julia. She and her husband Justin spend nearly all their free time caring for her and making sure the next generation community advocate arrives on the scene quickly! With her unique background and undying optimism, Ms. Mora is one of People’s Legal Services most valued assets.
